Artist's Statement

I see my work both as art and documentary. I have pursued a wide range of projects exploiting the virtues of colour photography. There is often a narrative behind my images, where I try to reflect my love and empathy for my subject matter. A lot of my influence comes from my relationship with Cambridgeshire and East Anglia from its flat Fen landscapes to the influence of America on this area.

Within my work, I am always trying to push the limits of lens-based photography without the need for digital manipulation. All my work is hand-printed from negative as C-type prints in 'full frame' which gives the distinctive ragged edge-look.

I have been exhibiting my work for 20 years, and more recently published my work as part of an extension of my artistic boundaries. My books include: 'Thurrock - A Different Light', 'FAST - Feasting on the streets of London', 'Man's Ruin' and 'Rolled Out'.
