Negative Robots

Working through my feelings of my childhood in the 1980's I find the words "Danger! Will Robinson Danger!" from the Lost in Space Robot B-9. Or images of Maximilian the Villain robot with the spinning cutting hands in the 1979 film, The Black Hole.

I have these robots stomping around in my memory, with their slow marching and forceful movements yet with humor in the flawed mechanics.

My series of /Negative Robots/ captures that cheek of childhood with their interesting faces and yet, captures a touch of the sinister with the Polaroid Type 55 in black and white. I have iconified them before they take control of us.

If we keep our robots more machine-like rather then humanizing them, we can feel safer in knowing their handicaps.
