James Collett's photographic work shows a keen interest in the trajectories light takes in the world and particularly the artistic qualities offered by the optics of fluids.
"I am a photographer and a research astronomer with a particular interest in the dynamics of astrophysical systems. I give lectures and talks to a broad audience on contemporary imaging techniques. I work alongside model makers, photographers, still and video artists on a variety of projects funded by, for instance, the Wellcome Trust, the Science and Technology Facilities Council, the DfES and the Institute of Physics."
